Clarity and Color Charts

The diamond clarity chart is used to assess the internal flaws or inclusions within a diamond, ranging from Flawless (FL) to Included. When it comes to diamond clarity, the best grade is Flawless (FL), followed by Internally Flawless (IF), Very Very Slightly Included (VVS1/VVS2), Very Slightly Included (VS1/VS2), Slightly Included (SI1/SI2), and Included (I1/I2/I3) being the lowest grade.

For diamond color, the best grade is D (colorless), followed by E, F (both considered colorless), G, H (near colorless), I, J (still near colorless), and so on, with Z being the lowest grade, which shows a light yellow or brown color.

Remember, both clarity and color are important factors to consider when choosing a diamond. While budget is normally the deciding factor when dealing with most diamond stores. When you purchase from Drop of Eden you are guaranteed to get at the very minimum an F grade or higher on the color chart and a VS1 or higher on the clarity chart.
